The Tale of Fairy Firefly :: Light of Life (Demo)

-NARRATOR-

What a big ritual to be held tonight
where all male fireflies come to ask for their brides,
who are the beautiful daughters of Phraya Lamphu.
The firefly parade sparkles as if the stars do.

But there comes the last firefly off his nest,
who makes all of his friends amazed.
Because they discover that he has no light.
They think this little firefly is not the same type.

Being different results in living on his own.
Without any friends, poor firefly becomes so alone.



-PAOPANGA-

Are you alright, little firefly?
You must be sad I can tell from your eyes.
Is there anything that troubles you?
Name it to me so I have a clue.

Pao Pa Nga is my name for calling.
I am a moth with such large wings.
So please tell me what your problem is
And I will help you find what you need.



-DARAKA-

Daraka is a name of mine.
But I am no longer a firefly.
I was born without the light like any others.
All of my friends do not bother.

And when I ask people out there,
no one actually seems to care.
This has brought me the deepest sadness.
To be lightless, useless and clueless.



-PAOPANGA-

Never feel sad my dear, there is always a clue.
But you need to find the forest King, Phraya Lamphu.



-NARRATOR-

The two start their journey through the big forest,
heading to search for the answer that they long wait.
Along the way, Daraka does not fly carefully.
Trapped in the giant spider’s web finally .

The giant spider abruptly approaches to kill,
aiming to eat Daraka as a lavish meal.
Out of nowhere, the big horrifying eyes appear.
The spider swiftly crawls away because of fear.

All of a sudden, little Daraka shines,
dazzling like a star up in the sky.
Only feeling delighted for a while somehow,
his light does not remain and eventually goes out.



-DARAKA-

Why oh why this bliss slipped away fast,
as if only taking a breath past.
Now my life becomes worthless again,
a moment’s pleasure has gone down the drain.



-PAOPANGA-

Do not feel sad, my dearest friend.
Why don’t you wait and practice again?
Good things come to those who wait.
Lucks are not like rain falling down to you straight.

Listen Daraka, I am a moth only.
Never do my wings ever look pretty.
I used to feel sad deep down in my heart
but indeed these wings saved your life in the past.

You are by no means worthless
as you are not at all born wingless.
So be proud of who you are being.
And in one day, you will succeed in everything.




-NARRATOR-

And through glittering lights from the flock of fireflies,
the forest King, Phraya Lamphu, stands by.


Hopefully in one day to shine his light,
little Daraka has now realized.
A man’s worth is not a momentary bliss,
but a great hopeful heart from deep beneath.

Only if you never stop trying
will your light always be brightly glowing.
Only if that light truly comes bright from your mind
will it everlastingly shine.
